AMANDA TO HOST IRISH ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’

I am very excited to announce that after 16 years I am making a return to Irish TV, taking the helm on RTE’s brand new ‘Dancing With The Stars’.

I know there have been rumours circulating that I may be hosting, but up until today I wasn’t able to confirm if my schedule would allow me to be involved in the show or not…. so now I can finally officially announce that I WILL be stepping into Brucie’s twinkle-toed shoes!!

Working back on Irish soil, while being close to my family again is the perfect scenario. It will be a busy few months with lots of other projects happening overseas as well… (no rest for the wicked eh?!)

I am also delighted that I get to work with the lovely Nicky Byrne. Having taken part in the UK version of the show, he will be well up to speed on his Tango and his Waltz and will know what our contestants are going through each week.

For years I have been looking for the right project to bring me back to Irish TV and as soon as I was offered the role on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ I didn’t hesitate. The team and I are really looking forward to entertaining the nation by combining a much loved format with a uniquely Irish spin (no pun intended!) on Jan 8th

Until then….Keeeeeep Dannncinnnnng!

According to students of Numerology, the year 2016 is a ‘Nine’ year (2+0+1+6=9) and its significance marks a time for endings or letting go of the old !

Last week, 1st Option Models, Management and Production said goodbye to our old premises on South William Street where we have been based for the past few years! It’s always a little sad leaving somewhere when we’ve enjoyed so many amazing memories there with our models, creative team and celebrities – the walls looked so bare when we were leaving!

We’re so thrilled to announce we have moved into our new home and are now located on Andrew Street. Our new agency premises are beside the post office and just above Rhinestones – a wonderful Aladdin’s cave of antique and period jewellery, and accessories. The offices are a stone’s throw from Grafton Street and we’re enjoying fantastic views through huge bay windows, overlooking Suffolk Street church. In fact, if we lean far enough out the windows, we can just about wave at our old office space!

There’s a real feeling of excitement as we settle into our new space and we reflect on all we’ve achieved this year.

2017 is set to be a HUGE year for our talent and management agency with so many innovative and forward-thinking initiatives we’ve been working on, to be shared with our supporters, as soon as we can!

So maybe it is apt, that 2017 is a ‘One’ year, meaning new beginnings, new starts, new chapters, and new adventures!

It may very well have been a wet and windy Wednesday night when the Dublin Fashion Festival was launched at City Hall yet that didn’t stop Dublin’s fashionistas and celebrities coming out in force to show their support and celebrate the announcement of another great year to come for Dublin fashion houses and designers.

Headline sponsor, Galaxy – yes there was an abundance of chocolate and many happy faces, busy munching away on delicious, creamy milk chocolate – as well as 98FM were there, and West Coast Cooler kept the cocktails flowing in the lead up to the official launch.

The City Hall was just abuzz with chatter, everyone clearly excited about the press launch announcing September’s Dublin Fashion Festival, with Xpose television filming and interviewing many of the event’s attending celebrities. Brendan Courtney and Suzanne Jackson, as well as Dublin’s leading influencers, were all in attendance, dressed up to the nines! This year’s face of the Festival was announced as Darren Kennedy.

Behind the scenes, Creative Director and Stylist, Jules Fallon was keeping things flowing backstage. She said, “It’s been several weeks and months now of planning and preparation to kick start the launch. In the lead up, I’ve been sourcing the very best looks to pull together a series of trends that I just know Irish men and women will love to wear for Autumn/Winter.”

These will pop up across the City as fashion shows across the day, as well as evening shows. 1st Option Models, Management & Production are once again at the helm of production. Jules has enjoyed the role of Creative Director since 2009 and our top models stood out on the catwalk at the launch.

Jules said, “There’s a lot of work involved for the models. FUN IN THE SUN!

A couple of weeks ago, most of us were praying to the Sun Gods and keeping our fingers, toes and eyes crossed, just hoping for a glimpse of sun and the chance to finally shed our winter clothes and an excuse to go shopping for summer clothes. While it has finally warmed up a little, three 1st Option models enjoyed some fun in the sun and made us more than a little bit envious with their social media posts!

Audrey, Rebecca and Teo were booked for a four-day trip to Malaga for a photo shoot with the Belfast-based 4 Beauty Group, a beauty manufacturing company that manufactures He-Shi Tan as well as Tantastic.

Staying in an amazing Spanish-style villa with swimming pool, it provided the perfect backdrop for the girls to wear and model the tanning products. The picturesque, cobble-stoned streets of the town with its whitewashed houses, bright coloured flowers and vibrant azure skies created naturally beautiful backdrops when they were enjoying shooting on location.

“This was the first time we’d organised a shoot overseas and on this scale, so we knew we needed to make sure we booked models who were going to deliver on our expectations, and on our investment! Khara Pringle referred us to 1st Option and that started the ball rolling”, said Neil Sherrin, 4 Beauty Group Brand and Marketing Manager.

“After explaining what we were after, the Agency were able to send headshots of girls who would meet our brief and as soon as we saw Audrey, Rebecca and Teo, we knew they had the look we needed to market to our target demographics. The agency team were professional to deal with and the models were so easy to work with, not to mention great fun. I know we’ll work again with 1st Option in the future.”

SUNSHINE AND STYLE

While the sun was splitting the skies over the weekend, the 1st Option Production team shone indoors!

The weekend was a really busy one for our production team across the city. Both Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and Jervis Street Shopping Centre were a hive of activity with a series of runway shows across the day.

Producer and Stylist Jules Fallon was at the helm in Blanchardstown with a busy day of four shows. Models Niall and Ashley showed off the Centre’s key trends for menswear this summer. Teo, Irma, Joanne, Gracie, Audrey, Rebecca O’Keefe, Rebecca and Paula Price were stunning, modelling the vibrant summer collection styled by Jules.

She says, “It’s really exciting to produce a fashion show from start to finish – there’s so much involved in it, from the time of its inception to prepping and styling, plus of course, coordinating all the models and the creative team. Our Production team consistently deliver exceptional results for our clients. And our models love it too! It keeps them really excited to be part of a high energy production.”

Across the city, another 1st Option team were killing it on the runway! Shoppers were able to soak up the energy of the Jervis Street shows, as styled by Dave Brittain. Mary Kate, Beth, Leanne, Jordan, Aoife, Mei Ling, Claire and Agneta were a dream to watch, with the boys, Mark and Kyle, doing a fantastic job. MC Suzanne Jackson of SoSueMe kept the flow of the shows running while presenting.

In addition to shopping centre shows, 1st Option also produces fashion shows, fashion shoots and commercial shoots. To find out more, contact the Agency on +353 1 670 5233.

ROCKIN’ THE MOROCCAN…

The crème de la crème of Ireland’s hair stylists and salon owners flocked to Smock Alley recently to watch live demonstrations on the full spectrum of usages for Moroccan Oil Hair Care Products.

1st Option Models, Management & Production were contacted a number of weeks ago to hold a casting in the Agency to meet with a selection of models with fantastic hair. The brief was mid-length to long with no extensions –  they needed natural hair to best showcase the Moroccan Oil products in demonstrations and showings – and have a great walk for runway.

Ten girls arrived at the Agency, ready to meet with the brand’s UK team and show them why 1st Option Models have a fantastic representation for professional, in-demand and confident fashion show girls. The models’ room was abuzz with excitement, chatter and fun before each model met individually with the client.

Following the casting, the Moroccan Oil team debated for a while over a coffee, playing around with combinations and model cards, chatting to the booking team here at the Agency as to who would best suit which look and for what!

Models Audrey, Mei Ling, Jordan, Gracie and Sarah were booked on the spot!

With a team of hair and clothes stylists flying over from the UK for the event, the only key component of the show missing was makeup! Checking out international makeup artist, Nadine Reid’s online portfolio, there was a resounding yes from the Moroccan Oil team after seeing just a few examples of her work!

Uploading pictures to their social media, the girls shared a teaser with the show and their looks on the day, and they looked fantastic.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR!

Spring is renowned as a time for new beginnings so what better time of year to kick-start our inaugural ‘Development Day’ with our newer faces!

While many of our newer models have worked on agency productions and experienced what it’s like to model on the runways and catwalks around Ireland, the day marked an ideal opportunity to perfect their moves in front of the camera and soak up the tricks of the trade from industry experts.

A quick stop-off at the agency to say hi and meet each other – for many it was a first time to all get together – the girls headed down to the studio to settle in for a fun, educational day on model behaviour!

Kick-starting the day, international makeup artist Nadine Reid, who worked on the recent Balmain campaign drew on her years’ experience as a MAC makeup trainer in Paris and London to teach the eight models tips and tricks to perfect their own natural makeup look for both camera and screen, coaching them along the way on the art of makeup application, colour palettes, and tones that best suit their individual skin tones.

The team also received a hands-on tutorial from natural, organic skincare brand Phyt’s Couleur Caramel on the importance of a good skin care routine as a model, especially at the end of a long day of filming. With a fresh face made over by guru Nadine, each girl was ready to shine in front of the camera, under the direction of testing photographer, Ismael Claxton, with a primary focus on head shots to update their website portfolio.

Jenna, Jordan, Sarah, Christine, Beth, Benedict, Claire R and Eabha wowed Booker Amy (or Tyra as we were calling her during prep time!) with fluid, natural posing and ease. She says, “Many of our newer faces are in their final year at school so the holidays are an ideal time to get together and work on developing their skill set as a model. I was really pleased with how they performed and how they took direction on their shoot – they took everything on board and were professional and upbeat throughout, even though it was a long day”.

Ongoing training and development days are an integral component of coaching the models we represent at the agency, provided only to our new faces and signings. If you are interested in becoming a fashion model, click here for more information.
