Ashley James is a successful presenter, model, blogger, and YouTuber.
Ashley is presenting a series called Style Stars, on Sky and Freeview channel PopGirl TV. She has modelling agencies in Ireland, London, Milan, and Istanbul. Ashley is the current face of Story Jewellery and Tutti Rouge, and her recent work also includes House of Peroni. As well as a successful blog on beauty, fashion, books, and lifestyle, Ashley also has a fast-growing YouTube channel.
Ashley is currently presenting a 12 episode series on Sky and Freeview channel PopGirl TV. The show, called Style Stars, sees Ashley setting teenage girls a series of fashion challenges. Ashley is also doing all the voiceover and online content relating to the show.
Her presenting career began at just 16 years old when she started work experience at BBC Radio Cumbria. Equipped with a Vox Pop and ambition, she would head out into the streets of Carlisle and interview locals about their opinions on hard hitting issues such as the price of Cumberland sausages and school uniform. Ashley secured a small slot on the lunchtime show voicing her opinions on local news, and also shadowed the Look North News team during this time.
Ashley worked for the news team for her University Radio station (URN) – which won University station of the year whilst she was working on the station. Over the years, Ashley did various VTs and appeared on BBCs Free Speech.
Ashley began regularly presenting for online fashion channel Fashtag in 2012. The role required Ashley to look at current trends alongside Grazia’s fashion team, and she also went out into the streets of London to explore the trends and gage the public’s reaction to them.Fashtag is an online channel that is a partner of fashion weekly Grazia.
Clothes Show TV employed Ashley in the Summer of 2013 after admiring her interviewing techniques online. This role took her to various festivals around the UK, where she interviewed acts such as the Vamps, Union J, and AME. During Clothes Show Live, Ashley held an array of live interviews with Henry Holland, MTV’s Becca Dudley, Union J, Kingsland Road, Jamie Laing, Amy Childs, celebrity stylist Karl Willet to name a few. Ashley also went to Wembley to conduct interviews of the X Factor contestants, and the style and makeup team in 2013.
Ashley’s live presenting work includes hosting the Alcatel throughout the notorious Clothes Show Live 2013, and hosting the main stage of Festifeel, a festival curated by Fearne Cotton for Coppa Feel!
Ashley is the showbiz presenter for Claire’s Accessories, and has conducted red carpet style interviews with Elyar Fox, Neon Jungle, Jessica Wright, and Ollie Marland. Ashley rose to fame after appearing on popular E4 show Made in Chelsea. Ashley’s TV work recently took her to LA where she met and with a string of big channels and production companies, and is in talks with an international fashion channel.
Ashley began modelling at the age of 17 after being approached in a restaurant in Newcastle. She gave up modelling at 19 to focus on her studies, but took it up again at the age of 24. Her modelling as taken her overseas and she is the face of several national and international brands.
Ashley is a proud Boobette, and supporter of breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel! and gives several talks about her personal story. She most recently co-hosted the main stage at Festifeel, a festival curated by CoppaFeel! patron Fearne Cotton.
Ashley cares for the elderly in her local community on a regular basis, and wants to encourage others to give up a small amount of their time to do the same. Ashley set up a luxury postcode bangle, Whistle & Bango, with two friends in July 2013. The bangle has been featured in publications including Hello!, The Daily Mail, OK, & seen on the wrists of Lilah Parsons, Tanya Burr, Danielle Peazer, Kara Marshall. The business is quickly expanding.
Ashley has a 2:1 (hons) degree in French and English Literature. She graduated from the University of Nottingham. Ashley has lived in America, Paris and an island in the Indian Ocean called La Reunion. Ashley is fluent in French, and speaks basic Spanish and Italian. Ashley has aspirations to write a novel one day.
