Fashion Stylist
After seven years working with Australia’s leading fashion houses, designers and advertising agencies producing and art directing fashions shows, shoots and events, over the past few years commuting between London, Melbourne, Singapore and Perth, international stylist Dave Brittain has returned to Europe, living in London.
His expertise in interpreting and forecasting seasonal trends led to a five-year tenure as Perth Fashion Festival’s Producer and Art Director, responsible for its conceptualisation and production from start to finish including storyboarding, model casting, coordinating creative teams, directing fashion designer and houses, styling, hair and makeup, lighting, music and stage management. His ability to produce exciting and atmospheric large-scale productions caught the attention of organisers for the Melbourne Fashion Festival and Singapore Fashion Festival, both annual events which were rewarded with equally vibrant and engaging productions.
Australian clients he’s worked with include Wheels and Dollbaby, Zambisi, Alchemie, David Jones, Ellery, Zsadar and Miss Vogue. The Asian Couture Federation, Fide, Sebastian Gunawan and Michael Cinco are Singaporean clients and Dave worked on productions with Total Management, Lingerie London and the Seven Bar Foundation, Aura of Asia and Agent Provocateur in London. He also worked with Tomorrow Ltd at Paris Fashion Week.
Renowned for his inimitable style and eye for detail, Dave has worked with the industry’s leading publications internationally, styling editorials which have featured The Face (U.K), Estethica (Australia), Culture (Australia), Design Week (U.K.), Wad (France), Centrefold (U.K), Milk (France), Blender (New York), and Irish publications Tatler, The Irish Times and Life.
Rankin (London), Nick and Chloe (Paris | Berlin), Bill Cannon (New York), as well as Nick West (London), Sarah Doyle (Dublin) and Barry McCall (Dublin) are just a few of the world-renowned photographers he has teamed up with to work on editorials, fashion shoots and campaigns.
His ability to manage small and large-scale productions while working to budget transitions fluidly to commercial, advertising and television work. Internationally, Dave has worked with several leading advertising agencies as a stylist, alongside renowned art directors, including The Saatchi Group agency, TTO Films in London and Beautiful Pictures in Australia. His commercial campaign repertoire includes Nikon, Head and Shoulders, Playstation, Cadburys, Vodafone, Heineken and Guinness, to name a few.
As comfortable on-screen as he is behind the scenes, Dave is an in-demand guest presenter and has presented style reports and fashion segments for television programs such as MTV Style (U.K) and TRL (U.K), working alongside Emma Griffiths, as well as a report for television station CNN.
David was an integral part of the team from 2010 to 2015 for Perth Fashion Festival, working with hundreds of international and national fashion designers for this annual event. His expertise lies in an innate ability to understand the brief and the vision of the festival and execute the roll out of the fashion show production including av, lighting, music, casting, styling and management of each of the fashion events within the festival series to ensure a professional… Liaising with designers and stakeholders to the highest level of professionalism, and directing the team to ensure that every detail was delivered to deadline. He proved astute in dealing with dignitaries and sponsors, key players in the production of PFF, as well as the day to day coordination and management of his team, upwards of 30 to 50 people, as well as the models.
