Sarina Bellisimo
Radio Presenter & Broadcaster
Sarina Bellissimo was born in Melbourne, Australia, to an Italian dad and a Greek mother. After she married an Irish boy, they decided to move to Dublin for eighteen months. Thirteen years later, they are still here, now with an eight year old daughter and three year old son!
One of Sarina’s favourite things to do is to chat to people and hear their stories. She would rather have conversations with them than conduct interviews. This gives the person she’s chatting to a chance to talk about what they’re really passionate about; start conversations that listeners can continue long after the chat has ended; and more often than not, share something about themselves that they haven’t before.
On Saturdays, Sarina can be found presenting Spin 1038’s weekly magazine style show, “Plan B”. On the show she chats with some of the world’s biggest stars; learns from amazingly talented people in “Plan B Master Classes”; shares her love for music and movies with the audience; all while getting to dance (and sing really badly) on the job!
Sarina also indulges her love for all things entertainment by talking movies on TV and radio shows like “Ireland AM”, Spin 1038’s “We Love Movies”, and Moncrieff’s “Movies and Booze” (Newstalk). As well as that, she shares her thoughts on all sorts of topics as part of TV3’s “Elaine” panel.
Sarina has recently started a new parenting podcast, with Lauren Kelly, “Nobody Told Me” for 98FM. This podcast came about after they became parents and realised that nobody tells you so many things. People tell you bits and pieces but nobody really tells you what you want, or need, to know. Lauren and Sarina have decided to share their parenting tales – not to scare people; they just want to share their truths because at times when the truths you see out there aren’t recognisable, you can feel very alone.
As well as that, Sarina has her own YouTube channel/Podcast/Blog all under the banner of “The Bellissimo Files”. The Bellissimo Files feature her interviews with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, chats with local heroes, TV and movie reviews, and her own musings on life.
